~The Happiest Place on Earth~

For years I have been taking family vacations to California, mostly to go to Disneyland, but visiting with my family down there was always a bonus. Well, for the first time in 23 years, I wasn't ready to come home. I have found that since I've been married, Vacations are just that much better. The last couple of years that I've gone to Cali, I've spent every night on the phone with Randy, and I found myself texting him all day long, waiting for the vacation to be over so I could see him again. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my family, and love love love Disneyland, but there's something about going with your spouse that makes a vacation so much more enjoyable! This was my nephew's first time going to disneyland and it was great to see how much fun he was having. But it was also great to be spending a week away from work with Randy! We flew out to Cali on Monday (my sister didn't want to drive with a 2 yr old...and I was so glad!). We spend monday just hanging out and visiting. It was Randy's first time meetin my extended family that didn't make it to the wedding, and mostly, he fit right in. My cousin has 2 girls that just attached to Randy. It was pretty funny considering the fact that Randy really doesn't like kids too much. :) But he was amazing with them. It was really fun to see...even though I was secretly laughing at him! Tuesday we went to Sea World...which by the way...is WAY overpriced!! I paid the same amount for 1 ticket at Sea World as I did for a 2 day pass at Disneyland! Ridiculous! But whatever...Randy got to see some sharks so he was happy. ;) We went on quite a few rides (they put rides in for the little kids...they were kinda fun) and we made the girls sick on a spinney ride...yeah...Randy was in charge. After that they didn't trust going on any ride with him (which is probably why he did it!). Wednesday we got the chance to go to the San Diego Temple. It was so awesome! I absolutely love that temple and after going though it, I love it even more! That afternoon we went to the beach. It was cold and not the beaches that Randy and I are used to...Bahamas, Puerto Rico, St Thomas, etc. but it was cool. We walked the beach and just had some alone time (which was few and far between with those little girls) :) Thursday and Friday were Disneyland and California Adventure...they were a blast. I made Randy go through the Tiki Hut...simply because he hates it but has always told everyone how awesome it is and that they have to do it very first. It was pretty funny! But Gehrig and the girls thought it was a blast. Unfortunately they closed my absolute favorite ride at disneyland, (Peter Pan...yes, I am 23 yrs old and my favorite ride is still Peter Pan) so I couldn't take my nephew, or my hubby the first time they were there with me...and that was a bummer. But we did buy a tribute to Peter Pan, and it's going to be hangin up in my house very soon! I'll post pictures when we get it framed and everything. Friday we did the whole California Adventure thing. It was a good time. I love the Tower of Terror...but for all of you who have only been to the California one...let me be the first to tell you...the Flordia one is SO much better! I told Randy I'd take him so he could compare...so it looks like we're going to Disneyworld! :) (not til after Italy of course). After we were done with all the rides, we went to Tony Roma's for dinner...yes...they still have Tony Roma's, just not in utah. We got some delicious ribs...it was awesome! Saturday was a pretty lazy day, mostly we woke late and then packed and had to go to the airport. All in all, it was a pretty fun little get away. I'm glad I can finally say I've been to Disneyland with Randy!

Yay for Shamu!

Dolphins do cool tricks!

This is the ride we got the girls sick on! :)

My Favorite Temple!

What's going on? (standing in line to see Mickey)

It's tough to be a bug...especially wearing these glasses!
